DVD ISOs sort of working?
Recently started re-ripping DVD collection into ISOs instead of VOBs. Resulting ISO files work outside sage by mounting a virtual drive on a computer (not the server). I can find the ISO files by using search on an extender, but they only play the video that sits behind the menu screen, and there is no menu functionality. I do not have virtual drives set up on the server itself
2 questions: How do I enable full DVD functionality for all extenders to be able to use these files? Is there a better way to get to them outside of Search (preferably Videos/DVDs)?

When I first started using Sage I wanted all my DVD's in ISO format because the folder I stored the files in would look "cleaner." DVD ISOs and MKVs for Blu-rays; no folders. I soon realized that using ISOs meant fighting against Sage's programing while the folder structure for DVDs just "worked." Also, how often would I be going in the folder where I store the DVDs to even care? Unless there is a really good reason to convert to ISOs you may be fighting an uphill battle and wasting time on a workaround for very little benefit.

Original rips were intended for mobile devices (non-streaming) at lower resolutions, so they look bad on regular tvs. That's the primary reason I'm re-ripping, but open to suggestions on the smartest way.
ISOs seemed like the best option, because I could just archive the dvd after doing it once, and still maintain the ability to re-rip with the ISO mounted on a virtual drive to work with whatever device came down the pike later. Plus I read that Sage can handle ISOs directly anyway, so I thought I could kill multiple birds with one stone. I agree that within sage the folder structure doesn't matter and works quite well, but when I go to move those files to a mobile device, it is very messy, needing to know which VOB is the first of the actual movie as oppose to ads/menus/etc. So I guess my true question is, what is the best way to have DVD rips available for sage as well as mobile devices? Two separate rips? And I am still at least academically curious as to why it only plays that menu video

I use the folder structure - original DVD with no changes (no h.264 compression). When I want to watch a DVD on my iPad/iPhone I use handbrake to open the DVD folder and then select which titles I want to be part of the output. Typically, I just select the main movie.
I don't keep my DVD's in a mobile ready format. This has worked very well for me so far.
