Wii U Remote

Anyone here have any clue what manufacturer I can try and select to see if I can get the Wii U to control my extenders?

Sage is not in list of course but neither is Hauppauge

Interesting question. I have the Wii U and I know how to control the extender's IR device. I can try to see whether at least the Wii U is able to generate an IR codes in the frequency/format the extender can understand (currently NEC, RC5 & RC6), maybe is possible to write a custom remote config file for the Wii U?

is there a browser on the wii u remote? if so you can use the mobile web ui remote that works quite well. I may need to update it though for the wii u layout, which shouldn't be a problem...

YES!, there is, in fact I did try to run the SageTV nielm's web server and it works without problem, quite amazing with the touch-screen actually, the BMT web interface didn't work properly, though

The reason I was asking though was to use it with the TVii feature. It suggests a movie or a TV show and will either change your STB(extender in my case) or steam from HULU+ or Amazon. So to fully use TVii I would need the remote able to directly control the extender. I tried a few different things I hoped may have worked, but they didn't. That is why I was asking if anyone knew of a manufacturer I could try and select that might work.

so if there is a web browser and you have the mobile web ui installed not neilms webserver you can use the remote i created that runs in a much cleaner and prettier fashion.

it would be

http://sage server : port/sagem/m/menu.jsp

there is a section in the middle of the page that will allow you to control any device on your network.

like i said, i would be happy to implement a remote layout for the wiiu, but would need a tester, and may have to bug kjricker to see if I can get him to make me some pretty pics to use
