I don't know if it applies in this case, but I was getting this message every day for several months last spring. I always had EPG data but finally I saw the sticky at the very top of this forum and when I went through the steps listed there it went away. I never seen the message since and I'm not getting it now.

Here too:

Verizon Fios Sarasota Digital

I use a different cable company's lineup for my out of market OTA antenna, and that one did not get the EPG channel lineup message that I got for Verizon.

Just some transient issue on the server. I'll look into it later today and fix whatever is wrong. Nothing to query about.

OK....I think it should be fine now...some kind of mysql error on one of the servers so I rebooted it and it seems to be fine now. Let me know if there's still problems. Happy New Year to y'all!

And just an FYI...we run 2 EPG servers. The SageTV software randomly selects between the two when it does a connection. So that's why when there's problems...some people will see it while others will not...due to the random nature of which server is being connected to.

So those of us that encounted the issue, might there be a gap in the epg data or should it fill in the data that was missing?

I think I speak for all of us when I say phew and, also, thank you!

Your load balancing system puts the "looks fine" vs "me too" in context -- thanks also for that explanation :

No, there should be no gap, next update it should still pull up everything that is currently missing from your local copy.

Something odd may still be going on (at least for me). I go out to prime-time on 01/09/2013 in SageTV EPG and I see No Data for NBC,ABC, & PBS.
01/08/2013 looks fine. 01/10/2013 looks fine.
I looked up the same date on the Zap2It website and the listings there for that date are complete.

Kind of odd....

I just discovered that all the channels for my Comcast - Analog service in Spokane WA had vanished, so I thought it might be the analog -> digital conversion finally hitting them. When I restarted the SageTV Service though, all the Comcast - Digital channels vanished also.

Ok, I found this thread, shut everything down again, removed the entries from sage.properties and started things back up. Now the Comcast -Analog channels are present, and EPG data is slowly filling in, but all the Digital channels on the other tuner are still missing.

Yep, they're on zap2it, and I can go through video source setup and select the EPG source again for my zipcode, so I assume that means I'm talking to the Sage servers correctly. The list of channels is just empty.

Edit: And just to add to the fun, the analog channels only show up on the box I run SageTV Client from, the SageTV running on the actual server show no channels in either EPG. I thought the server held the channel/EPG info, how can it not have it when the remote client does?

Edit: Ok, nuking the chan_download_complete property for that encoder caused it to download the list of channels when I did channel setup the next time, and the list showed up as expected and is slowly filling in EPG data.

I know SageTV is on life support and could die at any time. But damn, after nine years of this box just sitting in the rack doing exactly what I wanted it to, I'm going to miss it when the Google Reaper makes its final swipe.

Edit: And 12 hours later, the analog lineup has no channels in it again. I got it back by removing the properties, including the chan_download_complete one, and doing channel setup again. I don't trust though that they won't vanish again the moment I'm not watching.

Edit: Damnit, even that trick doesn't work now. The channels showed up and a few minutes into populating the EPG data, they vanished again. And a couple of minutes later, the digital lineup vanished as well. It's really infuriating to know that the data is out there, it can sometimes be seen, but some glitch is causing it to be completely removed again.

Just saw it this morning myself. Thanks for maintaining this!

It makes me sad to think I will loose my Sage and that a good thing like this has ended. Kinda like Twinkies. What will I do?
