Secondary OTA Channel Viewing Issues

I am starting to record some things broadcast on the secondary OTA channels, most of which appear to be 4:3 480i recordings. I am having some problems with playback, however:

1. If I watch on an HD200, no issues.

2. But, if I watch on a Sage client on a Win 7 PC (I've tried on 3 different CPU's with clients, I get a spinning wheel of death until Sage quits or I kill the program.

Is there a good decoder for this? I have tried the built-in Sage one, my ATI, and Microsoft decoders. I don't think it's the program video files themselves - if I watch them via Windows Media Player or Cyberlink DVD Player they are fine.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

You get any different results if you change the Video Renderer?

I always have good luck with the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoders for MPG2 and H.264 (running win7). I have found that each setup is persnickety with the renderers. Mine works with Overlay and EVR. But try all the renderers and see what happens.

Bobby: I was being lazy and hoped someone else had !!!

Alfi: Yes, it does work on other renderes; I was hoping to be able to stay with EVR but that is acceptable as a "patch" for those times.

Thanks !

Did you try the latest Lavfilters. There is a fix that corrects a problem with the sagetvdemuxer. If you do install it it will be under other filters .. it works fine with EVR.

I have this issue on one of my clients and have not found a fix. It seems to mostly occur for me when vieweing analog recordings.

I've tried a number of different decoders and a couple video cards. The only thing that seems to make this problem go away on this client is setting the video renderer to VMR9 (or, specifically, not EVR).
