Weather Weirdness!?

Using Gemstone with my HD200's/HD300 and placeshifter setup - thank you for all your work - I love it!

Small issue with the weather - I am in Canada so I have it setup to Metric values - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't - I have seen it be 37C as well as 0F - and sometimes it is even the right temp!

Any suggestions on what I could try to fix it? I am using the Yahoo Option as it has a better/more accurate forecast than the Google option - the World option doesn't work for me.

I have the same problem. I didn't even realize that I could change the provider...regardless, my temp seems to be inconsistent.

Do not use the google option at all as it does not work and will be replaced with a way better provider from Weather Underground in the next release.

The 2 others should work... Let me know the specific location you entered on the options screen so I can test it out. A screen shot of the full weather screen could help as well

You could always try removing the location and setting each of the properties on the options screen as sometime a placeshifter will partly use other server based settings until the setting is changed from the placeshifter.

My weather with Yahoo (for Canada) always reads 0c. Postal code L9T 0N8 - it identifies correctly as "Milton"

The other providers in the list didn't work at all.

that's too cold

I will take a look to see what's up!

PS: is this from a placeshifter too or any client type.

PC-client and Extenders, both HD200 and HD300.

My location is N3T 0B4 (Brantford, ON) ... Last night the extender looked right ... Like I say - it is weird, sometimes it is wrong and then it somehow refreshes the screen and then it is ok - can't seem to figure out what happens to make it change though.

Are you just referring to the temp in the header or the weather in the main weather screen or one of the weather widget panels?

My weather display in the top header and the widgets on my HD300/200's is usually off. It will ether say 29C or -2C or 29F, it seems to rotate around and do whatever it wants. If I go back in to options and look at the units it seems to fall back to standard, doesn't seem to keep the metric unit setting.

I'm in Canada as well.

This seems exactly what I am seeing - it is the top header band that keeps changing and seems to want to revert back to STANDARD in the settings - only sometimes - and for some unknown reason.

I haven't seen it default back to standard from metric, but I can confirm that the report does change and sometimes works.

During one reboot it displayed the correct 6C and sunny icon today. Now it's back to cloud and 0 which is incorrect and what's displayed most of the time.

I can not recreate this with the new version we are working on and I made a number of changes in the weather area including the header display so hopefull this will go away in the next release.
