Thumbnail Fast Forward Standalone?

On another thread, several of us were remarking on how much we love the thumbnail fast forward of Phoenix, but would love to be able to use it with other, non Phoenix configurations (e.g., Gemstone). Is there any way that this could be broken out into its own plugin?

Would just depend no how 'standalone' it already is in the Phoenix UI. If it doesn't have too many references/tie-ins to the phoenix UI, it should be possible. I'm not really sure what method they are using for the thumbnail generation/storage/caching. I think Gemstone has left the default OSD relatively unchanged (jsut adding in the media type icons and such), so this may still work well as a standard UIMod that could be used in default, gemstone, diamond, etc.

I'm pretty sure that Phoenix uses the phoenix.videothumbs apis, probably GenerateThumbnailsEvery api. It should be pretty easy for Gemstone to add something similar, if they want.
