HDHomeRun FileSize Resolution Problem

I've been using the HD Home Run over a year now with little if any problems. It stopped working last night and usually I just reset the system and everything works fine. I had to do a rescan of all channels in the HDHomeRun Setup and it is working again only now it is coming in at 1280x720 rather than before when it was coming in at 720x480. I was fine with the quality of 720x480 and it averaged 1 gig/hour which was great and now it seems to be around 12 gigs / hour. I called my cable company Time Warner and they say nothing has changed.

I don't know what could have caused this. I did do a firmware upgrade also on the HD HomeRun. Could that be it? I thought it just takes the file from Time Warner and streams it across. I'm stumped.

The Hd Homerun outputs the stream as it is received..... So either you were doing Clear QAM and was recording the 528x480 instead of the full HD version which can be 1280x720 or 1920x1080i. There is no way to change the size.

QAM Portland area

For example channel 2 Clear qam can be captured 15-1 which is 528x480
or the HD which comes in as 75-2 1280x720p it all depends on which ones you mapped in sage.

Check the silicondust site for your channels and the resolutions.

Thank you - yes, I played with it and found that it streams in two separate channels (SD and HD).

Thanks,
Mike
