Sage 7 with Windows 8 and usbuirt.
I have installed windows 8 preview, sage tv 7.1.9 and usbuirt. Alll drivers are installed and properly recognized. I use the usbuirt with the remote control and that works fine, but it is not changing the channel on the cable box so ends up recording wrong channel. Does anyone have this type of setup working properly and if so is there something that needs to be done differently to get the usbuirt to send the signal to change channels?

You might mention what type of set top box you are trying to control. Someone might already have an IR file for it.
You may need to experiment with the "RepeatCount" parameter. On my last setup top box, a Motorola DCT 2000, the "RepeatCount" Parameter was: RepeatCount 10 There is a free utility called IRHelper that might help you setup the USB-UIRT. Just about every time I got a different set top box, I had to tweak the IR file. Usually, the "RepeatCount" parameter needed to be tweaked. Dave |

The problem is not with the ir file. I have it setup to blink anytime it sends the codes to change channels. It is not sending the codes at all. I think I may have it figured out. I accidently installed the windows xp driver rather than the windows 7 driver . It won't allow me to change the driver in device manager so I am doing a clean reinstall and see what happens.

I can't remember exactly where I read this but I thought there was an issue with using an USBUIRT as a receiver and transmitter at the same time... I use two on my server but don't use as a receiver only a transmitter to change channels on my STBs.
Can anyone else recall? |

I use mine as receiver and transmitter and they work fine. I trained it within SageTV using my Motorola STB Remote and did not use the 1 provided within Sage even though it worked. I also use the zones to control a DTA... also trained within SageTV.

I emailed Jon and he sent me the updated dll file. I copied it over the old file and it now works fine.

Can you give me the file date on the updated dll that Jon sent you so that I can determine if I need to get a replacement as well? Thanks

That file is included in the latest Driver Downloads... from the USBUIRT site... v2.02.16.

It isn't the same file that is in the windows 7 ver driver because it is 236 KB whereas the file he sent me is 509KB in size
