HD-PVR Observation
I recently switched from using the IR Blaster for channel changing to using the HTTP tuning method and noticed that sage is behaving differently.
While using the IR Blaster tuning a channel took several seconds longer and seemed to have no issues with audio sync. After switching to HTTP tuning (also required me to restart my Directv receiver) my audio sync started drifting over time (locked at 720p). I then locked my receiver at 1080i and sync with spdif audio has been perfect. I also noticed that somehow the video looks a bit smoother I'm guessing the frames dropping every so often before was due to audio syncing but I never thought the method of channel tuning should matter for the encoding post channel change. |
