Hauppauge 45 button remote with ehome receiver

I am currently in the process of moving my sage tv to a headless server with client configuration. So I had been using the Hauppauge 45 button remote with the standard receiver that came with the HVR2250 (phone jack connection).

Now that I am going to only have a client computer, I cannot use this receiver (as I wont have the tuner on the computer I am now using to watch).

So I got the Hauppauge MCE remote kit (http://store.hauppauge.com/accessori...uct=mce_remote), and I am using XP Pro.

This is the same remote, just with the ehome USB receiver.

Here is where my problems come in. I am trying to get it to control my sageTV. It will "see" the remote presses (light goes on the receiver), but I cant get it to control properly.

Has anyone else had problems with this?

Edit - Some buttons will work properly, but as soon as you press certain buttons, it freaks out (keeps pressing buttons constantly) and renders watching tv useless. I tried the Remote keymap software, but it does not help, as it seems there is some default remote config controlling it. The live trace also does not see any events from the remote, but if I open sagetv and press buttons on the remote, it will attempt to move the highlighted field (and then freak out).

Thanks

Have you selected 'MCE Remote' in Detailed Setup > Commands?

The 'Hauppauge 45 Button Remote' setting is for the silver remote.
