Instructions for installing HVR-2250
I'm using the latest version of SageTV 7 (forget what it's up to now) and I have been using it with the HD-PVR with a USB-UIRT. I'm trying to set up to use the HVR-2250 tuner card for a location that just gets Cable analog (no STB), but I can't find any instructions for setting up the card for SageTV. Even the list of cards that work is no longer up on the SageTV site any more. Is there a link?
I have a Win7-64 system with 12GB of RAM and I got the OEM version of the HVR-2250, which I think comes without anything but the card itself. (I have the install disk from the HD-PVR though.) I don't intend to use WinTV since I have SageTV, but I have downloaded the latest 2250 driver from the Hauppauge site. Should I run the driver installation before installing the card, and then run the "source wizard" in SageTV7? Should I run it from the server computer, or can I just run the HD200 extender? Do I need to install WinTV for any reason? Sorry if these seem like stupid questions, but I couldn't even find anything in the manual about installing Hauppauge cards. |

It's pretty simple. Put the card in your computer, then go to device manager and point the driver installer to the unzipped folder where your 2250 drivers are. That's it.

OK thanks. Lots of comments about problems on the Newegg comments section, and several whining that the device comes without a CD, but I'll see. I don't need the remote (I have three extra Hauppauge remotes already) so figured I'd go with the OEM.

I'm about to order several myself so I'm going to get to see if something changed but I could swear that it had a CD on the earlier ones I bought. Also going to see if my luck has changed with them. I originally had 3 of them but due to user stupidity on one and a lightning strike on another I'm down to a single one left in working condition.

I had all sorts of corruption problems on analog recordings until I found this driver: http://code.google.com/p/tmiranda/do...0.zip&can=2&q=
No other version worked properly.

The timeline problems only occur when using the analog tuners.

Right in other words my SDTV SVideo recordings off of one of the HVR-2250 inputs. Specifically the one that is built into the card not the one that is Dongled. Never noticed a problem. Don't have too many recordings that way so maybe just lucky.

Got the box in the mail this afternoon. It had a number of things in it, including the driver CD, setup brochure, and extra input board with cable, and a combo SVideo and component cable. I didn't use the CD, just downloaded the driver from the Hauppauge site, and now have both tuners working. I've recorded a number of shows, including some simultaneous recordings on different tuners, and it seems to work great. I also didn't touch the formatting of the hard drives. I have an ASUS board with an AMD X6 processor.

One little hiccup I've noticed so far. If it's recording two different programs at the same time it sometimes saves them under file names that are switched. So far this just happens if the start and stop times are the same. Not sure whether this is a Hauppauge or a SageTV problem.

I've never had that happen, and I record with both tuners all the time.

I agree I've never seen that.

Only happened once, so far. Might have been an artifact of setting up or something. Will see if it happens again.
