Sage Exception Error On Playback
Not sure if it is Phoenix related but since I have upgraded to 408 I started to get sage exception errors on playback (unplugging the HD300 fixes the problem) and a bunch of the "null" errors.
BTW _ Phoenix is great! Thanks again for all the work. |

Do you actually get an error showing up? I've been having a similar problem since upgrading to 408. Every so often (it's happened four times since I've upgraded to 408) I've been getting black screens when playing any video, and I have to unplug the HD300 to fix it as well.

Is there a way to manually go back to a previous release? I'd like to see if that would fix my playback issue. I had to unplug my HD300 again this evening. Thanks.

The easiest was to test this is is to simply revert to the default UI for a few days and see if you get the same results. I use Phoenix daily, and I've never seen the issue myself (I also have a HD300).

If there a way to download and install previous versions of Phoenix?

I've been having some really strange behaviors since applying the latest updates as well. However, I was assuming it was the switch to google weather api's which did me in. I had to switch into the default STV to apply the weather source update, but after I did, I reapplied Phoenix as my default STV on all my HD300's.
However, since I applied the updates either the day they came out or the day after, my HD300 will turn itself off when I attempt to play a tv show. I can play one or two just fine (start to finish), but when I go to start another, the HD300 just shuts off. If I turn it back on, the HD300 will start up, but I still will not be able to play any shows or videos. All I get is a black screen. I have to unplug the power to the HD300, wait a few minute, then plug it back in to get back to a workable state. If I don't wait longer enough (while it is unplugged) before plugging it back in, I'll usually get the Wake-on-LAN screen due to the network card glitches in the HD300's. Phoenix was running AWESOME before I apply the latest batch of updates. However, I cannot be certain if it was the new default STV, new weather source api's, or new Phoenix release. I've asked in another thread how to roll back the STV and weather API updates, but I haven't gotten an answer yet. The WAF factor is way down right now. She's threatening to make me buy the new Tivo Premier XL if I can't straighten this out soon.

I guess I updated for the latest weather as well just about the time I started having problems.
I have had the same issue as Hokieperogi (HD300 turning off) but I have also had the exception error pop up and then I am unable to watch any recordings until I unplug the HD300. Things seem to be working ok now. But I did reinstall Sage on my WHS and then updated for the new weather and then Phoenix. |

Did you just reinstall the same version on top of your existing SageTV install? Or did you uninstall, reinstall and then reconfigure everything?

It is possible to manually downgrade phoenix. All the packages for each release is on the phoenix download site. I'm not going to detail how one would go about doing this, since I don't want to support the aftermath.

In cases where folks want to rollback or keep all the devices in their setup at the same Phoenix version (without) upgrading, manual installation becomes necessary.
Is installation identically to manually installing STVs in previous SageTV versions? Please detail for us... |

I have additional information from my wife this evening. She told me that whenever she presses the back button on the remote during live TV, the HD300's and HD200's turn off. The only way to get them to be able to play anything again is to unplug the power, wait a few minutes, them plug them back in.
I'm going to follow darrylc's reinstall process this evening to see if it fixes the issue or not.

A reinstall of the SageTV software, after deleting the client files, did not fix the problem. I did the reinstall (choose "Repair" during the install wizard) last night. The plugin manager reported Phoenix and the new weather API's were already installed, so I could not install them once again.
I'm curious, darrylc, how you were able to "install" the new weather and then Phoenix after you did your reinstall? Did you first roll out the updates somehow? Thanks.

I think a number of the playback issues (all of them in fact) are caused by the autocomskip changes that went into 408. If you disable automatic comskip I think you'll be in better shape until the next release.

One oddity i noticed and again this may be by design, but why when i go into BMT and turn the autocomskip off does it not propogate down to the extenders? |

BMT runs in the "server" context, which means that it's property changes end in the Sage.properties and not the client properties.

is there any hope for a global settings page which will allow an admin to set all of the properties files on extenders?
