Build 408 Release Notes

408 has been uploaded.

  3. Moved OSD volume / message area down a little so that it doesn't overlap with the top OSD elements.
  4. Tweaked Comskip Autoskip logic, hopefully it will be more robust now. There is a small red dot added to the timebar when the Autoskip is active, this is to help with future debugging if it's not working.
  5. Added Season / Episode info into EPG show info.
  6. Updated Music browser to use optimized background loading
  7. Title sort in the UMB can be configured to always ignore leading prepositions. This setting is in UMB options.
  8. Added remote command listeners for "Video Library", "Picture Library", "Recording Schedule", "Live TV", "Library", "Setup", and "TV" sage commands.
  9. Fixed bug in recording activity on landing zone so that it only shows today and tomorrow.

Is anyone else seeing some major issues with this release?

I updated a few days ago, and I know for sure 2 other individuals that are seeing the same issues i am having.

issues list
------------
1) using the back button will randomly kill the extender
2) Regular Sage Playback exceptions that cause me to have to power cycle my hdx00
3) hitting guide, then guide again will randomly shutdown the extender
4) scrolling to fast through the guide will shutdown extender
5) performing the following sequence will shutdown the extender
a) hit guide
b) tune to a channel
c) after cahnnel is playing hit guide again
d) pick another channel to watch
e) during tunning of next channel the extender will die.

#5 above ALWAYS kills the extender for me. I have tested this on 3 HD200's 2 hd300s and a client pc all with the same result on the new phoenix build.

I have validated that all phoenix related plugins, core services, etc. are all up to date, hdx00 is running the most recent beta build, server is up and functioning normally.

I have reverted to the default STV for the time being, and all is working 100%...any ideas on this one guys? I know WREMS is having similiar issues, and another friend of mine who isn't really present on the forums is seeing the same issues.

The only thing changed that had anything to do with playback us the auto comskip changes. So you might try disabling that..... I haven't had any trouble with the latest release.

Could that explain the entire hdx00 shutting off though, and regular playback exceptions?

Well i don't understand it, but the first test was successful. I followed the seq i posted above and it did NOT cause the extender to shut off randomly. For now i will leave autocomskip off and see if any of the other issues continue to happen.

thanks for the quick response Bialio, I find it difficult to use anything BUT phoenix :-) its just so bad a$$!

All extenders back running phoenix :-D woot.

My wife notice a wierd thing which i dunno if you meant it to be this way or not, but what happens is actually quite annoying.

go into Recordings -> any submenu -> hit the back button not ARROW.
Now she, and i agree, expects the back button not arrow to take her to the previous screen or previous position in the list, however it will take you back to the HOME screen. Is this a feature or a bug?

Sounds like a bug.

I also can't get the jump to search to work anymore. In any of my custom vfs, hitting a number on the remote no longer brings up the letters for me to choose from.

This is the 1st post I found regarding the extenders shutting off. This has been happening to me on both my my HD200 and sometimes on my HD300. Seems this started when with the google weather STV update from SageTV.

So it's the autocomskip? Is there a fix yet?
