stb didnt change channel so recorded wrong show

could someone here offer an explanation of what is happening?

I have a hauppuage 2250 that I have a dct 700 connected with usbuirt. The other tuner is analog cable. my test run in the last few days has all shows correctly taped until tonight. 2 shows didn't change to proper channels one was repeat of grey's anatomy & the other a cable show. in the recording I noticed the box displayed both starting out at channel 8 which is a local station here. Instead of switching it remained on channel eight the shows also had poor quality picture with lots of pixilation. everything else up to this point has been correct & good picture. ( had problems before & reloaded software v7 & recalibrated remote codes for stb.

Is this a calibration issue , electrical interference or possibly show being blocked from taping in the case of grey's anatomy? how do i fix this? I will try rescanning remote codes with lrnhelper.

i watched the recordings at beginning for clues & noticed that grey's anatomy was on right station for a few secs then it switched to wrong station. this is puzzling me why this happened.

Have you tried rebooting? I've had the USB-UIRT driver crash or stop being responsive on occasion...

ok tried rebooting. It seems odd that shows before & after those two shows are perfectly fine. It is odd that those 2 shows were so horribly corrupted. Was it maybe a corrupted incoming signal or signal between uirt & stb? is there anything I can do about remote signal. Once i get my ir bug I will be hooking up a second dct700 so both tuners will be using digital channel line up. I am hoping to nip any further potential problems before they can happen.

Could you explain your connections more? are you using the breakouts for connections?

If you are using rf and a settop you can only use 1 device, you know that right?

also, if you are using two zone on the usb-uirt make sure
1. That the box isnt seeing the blaster of the other zone
2. zones are setup properly.

yes i have one tuner hooked up to dct700 + usbuirt & the other tuner on straight analog signal. i moved router etc so the stb is isolated from any electrical interference & did the reboot. It seems to have worked until last night. I tried taping 2 & a 1/2 men & got something else instead. The show that airs right after it was fine. So is that issue with uirt or a case of not being allowed to record show? any additional suggestions to prevent more hiccups would be appreciated. I normally leave computer on all the time. Will I be forced to frequently reboot computer so uirt behaves?
