HP shuts down WebOS

So HP buys Palm for the WebOS and then gives up and writes off the purchase, discontinuing WebOS phones and tablets.

Same thing going to happen with any other large IT company purchasing much smaller technology

Cough Cough (Google buying Sage)

I thought they did it because Best Buy has something like 270,000 unsold tablets sitting in a warehouse because nobody bought them. It just didn't sell. Guess it is pretty hard to compete with IOS, and Android.

While, IMHO, Palm was a dying technology, it was also a much larger company than Sage. So I am not sure you can draw this conclusion. If you can, I recommend you start playing the lotto!

Exactly!

Google also bought this tiny company called Android Inc. in 2005, and now nobody even knows what an Android device is...
