If you have any interest in Dynamic Menus (via ADM plugin) then you would need to be at 7.1.9
If you are happy with the features/plugins that you currently have, then stay with 7.0.23 |

Any known issues going from 7.0.23 to 7.1.19? I know the wiz.bin file gets changed after 7.1.12 (I think) but should I stagger my upgrade?

I didn't test that scenario but I'm pretty sure that would be fine. Technically you could upgrade fron a v6 to v7.1.9. If it hangs at the splash screen give it time. It would be upgrading the wiz.bin. Patience. Again-a backup is your best bet.

So I took the plunge and installed 7.1.19 RC after doing a backup.
Sage crashed once after the upgrade but I think that is related to converting the wiz.bin file (I think...). How long does it take for TV logos to download - nothing has downloaded yet? Also, will I see episode guide data in my existing recordings? Thanks again for all the help! ![]()

I know at one time with the version the channel logos first came out I had issues and had to reinstall it again before I got them. After that no issues. Make sure any logos you originally downloaded are removed from the Channels logo directory. I can't remember if you see the episode data only on new stuff or if it eventually backfills. Plus is you were using Phoenix and BMT you probably already have that info.
If you don't see anything in a couple of hours you may want to try a clean install. Make a backup, uninstall 7.1.9 and blow away the SageTV folder. Do a fresh install and configure your tuners and start with some basic plugins. Verify it is all working (channel logos, metadata, etc.) Then copy back in your wiz.bin from your previous 7.1.9 install after stopping the SageTV service. Sometimes remnants in the .properties files could cause issues and it's usually easier to do a clean install than to troubleshoot. Gerry

Also, I am seeing episode data in the guide, however, I don't think it is retroactive so my previous recordings won't have it (which isn't a big deal). So far everything has been pretty good, a few hiccups here and there but good none the less. EDIT: Episode data is starting to show up in previous recordings. I have a lot of recordings so it is probably taking STV a long time to go through and mark everything.

Do I need to un-install them? Update them to the latest versions? Something else? Thanks, Drew

I'm currently running Sage 7.0.23.246 and would like to upgrade to 7.1.9 but I cannot find a copy of the 7.0.23 installation file on my system. Is there a URL where the old installation files are available? I'd like to have them just-in-case.

I am somewhere around 7.1.5 and was wondering the same thing (i.e., whether I had the files to roll back if necessary). Instead, I've decided that doing a full image (using Seagate's DiscWizard) is the safer route. I plan to do the upgrade to 7.1.9 RC this weekend. DiscWizard, which is actually TrueImage, is a free download, but requires at least one Seagate (or Maxtor) drive connected to your pc. A usb-connected Seagate drive will work.

I have more problems with 7.19, than I did with 7.15. Now, that is to say that with 7.15 Sage would crash to the desktop once in 6 months, and 7.19 has done it twice in 4, so we're not talking deal breaker. I also had HDHR problems with the first attempt at 7.19...could have been the installer, who knows. Just save your whole folder, and going back is easy. I stayed with 7.19 because going back is more of a hassle than the glitches.

Perhaps you should try removing SageTV and reinstalling it, I know that has fixed problems in the past for me.
