what does the future hold for BMT?

just curious on how stuckless is taking all this googling...
you doing the jump ship panic?
or the pessimistic waiting for doom?
or the optimistic waiting for a bright future?

fwiw BMT has a fairly rabid (sometimes even literally) following... we need our BMT...

I'm not in the doom and gloom camp, that's for sure. I love sagetv... and I love Android... so if parts of SageTV can make it into Android, then I'd see that as good thing. SageTV has some great placeshifter technology (in addtition to their awesome dvr functions), and perhaps google will use that to bring decent live and recorded streaming media to android devices from google tv devices... who knows... but I'll stick around to find out

As for BMT... it's not going anywhere either. My work life and personal life has taken over a bit lately, so any decreased activity in BMT attributed to that, and not the current google/sagetv circumstances.

Like everyone, I have concerns about how my personal DVR setup is going to move forward, but I have a very stable setup right now, and even if sagetv went offline, I could get by for a couple years at least before I needed to move on.

Phoenix (another joint project between MeInMaui, Bailio, and myself) is close to being released publicly as a beta. So while the main SageTV UI may not be actively developed, perhaps there is room for other projects to fill gap in the interim.

My recommendation would be... unless you have a compelling need to jump ship... then wait and see... you might be disappointed, but you might also be surprised

good to know BMT will be around for a while...

I wont be going anywhere...
can't...
nothing does all that I need... only sage... and now?
wish I could...

(note I just wish there were more true whole home media solutions like Sage + HD300's... not that would I necessarily jump ship... just that I would like the option to jump ship... but I don't even have that option... if I jump ship now, I would just end up in the ocean all wet with no platform to save me and then I would drown and get eaten by sharks.... I don't want to get eaten by sharks... I think my mind might be wondering off without me... I should just stop typing now...)

Sean, I'm glad you feel that way. My biggest fear of all was you and John bailing ship with nobody to maintain BMT/CMT plugins (when websites like TVDB and IMDB change). I was hoping if/when sageTV's plugin repository gets turned off in a year or so; loyal BMT/CMT users could still download minimal maintenance STVi's; and users swap out older STVi's when scraped websites change. There isn't really anything else I'm worried about; except if/when my HD200 dies of old age.
