HD300 Smooth FF/RW Works with Recordings, not with movies?

I am running an HD300 off Sage 7.1.7.254.

When watching recorded TV shows, I can do smooth FF/REW in 4x, 16x, etc steps without issue.

When playing a movie file (seemingly any .avi, mkv, ogm, etc) the smooth FF/REW does not function at all like it does with recordings. It seems to sometimes skip forward 10 seconds, or sometimes just cycles over the same portion of video every time FF is pressed.

At one point I had the multifunction skip plugin installed, but read that was not necessary with an extender and as far as I can tell that did not add/change any of the functionality I describe above.

Any insight is appreciated!

AFAIK, smooth FF/REW only is only supported with mpg, ts, and m2ts formats.

Thanks for the response. When I was running Sage directly on my TV without an extender and had the multispeed skip plugin installed, it would cleanly FF and RW at 2x/4x/8x/16x, etc on any file format at any time.

Are there others who can confirm smooth FF and RW only work on certain file types or are somewhat limited by doing it through extenders?
