Captions (Off) on Server

What am I doing wrong? I can get Closed Captioning to appear when playing (any media) through an Extender (HD300 or HD200) but not when playing the recording on the Server Machine. During playback on the Server (right-click) the Option for Captions is shown but clicking on it produces no action -- it continues to show "Captions (Off)." How do I make this option behave as expected?

You need to choose a decoder that supports it. I think the Sage Video decoder does.

That did it. However, I already had "SageTV MPEG Video Decoder" selected. Changing it to "Mainconcept MPEG-2 Video Decoder" did the trick -- the other available decoders did not. I remember changing it from "Default to the SageTV one but don't remember why that was necessary... I am sure I am about to find out soon enough though.
