Hey rxnelson,

It was never logged as I couldn't duplicate the issue even with the file that looked to be the culprit. I think Plucky thought it was file name/API related but still hard to pinpoint the problem if we can't duplicate it on our side.

I am currently using 7.1.9RC with Diamond 3.3 and have never had any memory issues.

I can also see from reading the posts above that gbob may not have tried to troubleshoot the issue by disabling all of the non "Diamond" plugins to determine if it was still an issue with only 7.1.7 and Diamond installed. He may have and just not replied back.

If you happen to have the issue, please post your logs and we will look into it again.

Cheers,

Jeremy

Jorton,
Thanks for the reply. I looked through your sig and didn't see if you used computers or hd300s or anything like that. I am currently on an xp server and planning to migrate to newer hardware and win7 64 bit. Any suggestions on that? I think I have read that most are using the latest hdpvr driver and UAC off. Any other tips?

Updated my signature, yes I use a single HD300.

I turn off UAC on my clients and server, seems to make things easier for me anyways. I use the latest HDPVR drivers from Hauppauge with my STB's locked at 1080i and use 5.1 SPDIF with no issues, all my HDPVR's have been RMA'd to "later" revisions and they have been pretty solid for me. The biggest advantage I think is the W7 video decoders that work well with HDPVR TS files. I also do a Sagetv service restart at 3am every day and also have my HDPVR's on a power bar with a timer that resets the HDPVR's between the stopping and starting of the Sagetv service.

Good luck!

J

Do you find all of that necessary to keep the hdpvrs going? If so I may stick with xp. The hdpvr has been pretty reliable. I would say it hangs maybe once a month and that is usually because some other reason like a power bump turned the stb off.

I may not have memory issues either if I restarted the service daily. I prefer set it and forget it though. Hmmmm....

I think you are pretty safe to go for it. I went from WHS V1 to Windows 7 64bit. I had nothing but problems with WHS and the HDPVRs and most of the fixes/tweaks I am doing may not be necessary with Windows 7 but I kept them going just in case. I also changed to new USB 3.0 PCIe cards for them to connect to with NEC chips on them.

I setup a job that stops and a job that starts the Sagetv service every day at 3am, it is set and forget, just don't record at 3am when it's set to restart

Jeremy

PS - Mine hangs maybe once a month and it's usually on Thursday AM after Windows update alerts start getting pushed out. Even with the auto update disabled and only alerting me it still seems to be the cause, or I'm hoping it is

I have two HD-PVRs running on a Win7 system and I never reset anything other than an update every couple of months. After about 5 duty years of my HD-PVRs (prior OS was WHS) I would estimate that I have had 5-6 times where I had to do a power cycle.
