psisdecd.dll error with HDHR tuner

Hi Folks,

I have begun testing Sage on Windows SBS 2011 Essentials in the hopes of migrating from WHS V1. The latest Sage beta installed just fine, so I went ahead and proceeded with the HDHR install. It all goes well until the install ends and the HDHR config menu comes up, at which point I get an error message along the lines of "Windows has failed to register the psisdecd.dll module." I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the HDHR software a couple of times to no avail.

I found the psisdecd.dll in the SageTV/Common folder and tried registering it manually from an elevated command prompt and got a success response. I rebooted and set up the tuner in Sage and tried tuning a channel, but got an error stating that no installed tuners are capable of tuning this channel. None of the channels would tune. I know the tuner can tune these channels. It tunes them just fine in my production Sage system.

A little searching turned up psisdecd.dll errors sometimes being related to DirectX. I downloaded and installed the latest DirectX. Still no love.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks,
Jesse

Solved!

Hello,

Got this one sorted.

It appears that Windows SBS has no support for BDA devices baked in. Some better search terms turned up a thread right here on the Sage forums:

I am guessing that WHS 2011 may not have this issue as it is more media focused.
