When trying to add my new HDHR to SageTV I get the following error:

Well, I have no idea if this will help, but I have frequently had intermittent HD-PVR errors.

I started noticing errors in my system log. My system was trying to start drivers and .exe's for an uninstalled Dvico fusion tuner and for WinTV. I had to go into the registstry and pull out references to them, since the uninstaller supposedly got rid of them months ago.

Knock on wood, not a single Sage HD-PVR crash in over a week.

This might apply to you since I see it looks like Sage is trying to start something maybe you have uninstalled.

Are you able to just run the Silicondust software and use their QuickTV app or VLC and receive stations? If you followed the instructions at both here and Silicondust and have it running on a supported OS then I would suggest goin to the Silicondust forum and open up a Support ticket. Also if you're going to ask for help please supply more info on the system and the specs you are running.

Using VLC I was able to view all my stations through the Silicondust software. I did follow the instructions, making sure the channels were labeled properly. I am currently running SageTV 6.6.2 which I just upgraded this weekend as well. I have Windows XP. Other than that.. it seems like my old tuner is working fine despite the error in that log. I'm not sure what other specs are relevant so I'll probably open a support ticket and see what they can tell me.

So you upgraded TO 6.6.2? What were you running before? Does the new tuner show up in Sage and did you follow the instructions in the forum to scan all the channels on both tuners on your new HDHR? And did you install the latest drivers from Silicondust? AT the same time your ATI tuner also threw an error. Again-knowing what you have and what you are running may enable more help for your issue. Take a look in my sig to see some of the specs I list. Also enabling debug on Sage will give more detailed errors to help troubleshoot.

Yes, I upgraded from 6.2.10. I haven't had any problems until trying to install the HDHR so I figured maybe SageTV needed an upgrade to work properly. My original tuner and the two HDHR tuners do show up in Sage. I get the same error when adding either. I did follow the instructions posted here and here. I downloaded the latest drivers from Silicondusts's website. It may take a while to get all the info from my computer but I know it's an e2160 processor with 2gb ddr2. Not a speed demon but it works.

Did you do this and update the STV from Detailed Setup-Advanced-Check for updated STV?

Quote:
If SageTV v6.5.9 (or newer) has not yet been run, at least start it once. And, be sure to go to Detailed Setup -> Advanced -> Check for STV Update in order to make sure the latest STV is being used. NOTE: Make sure the default STV, SageTV3.xml, is being used.
Make sure you're using the default STV that has no plugins installed.

Not so much concerned with hardware. It helps with the bigger picture. How many tuners and what type? Are you doing OTA or Clear QAM or a combination of both? Have you scanned all tuners and used the full lineup or are you reusing linesups or copying lineups between tuners? What plugins are you using? Revert to the default STV with no plugins. Are you using a complete replacement for SageTV like SageMC? If you are again revert to the default. With the issues you are seeing it may make sense to move to the latest SageTV 7. Not that it would fix your issues because we don't know what they are. But because of the effort being put forth.
