Release 310 Read Me

SO the 310 release is imminent. Here are a few tips:

1) Scale the fanart the first time you run 310. You need to do this once from the server and once on any FULL client. The option is located in Admin Tools of the Options menu. This will take a while, you will know it's done when the spinning circle of patience goes away.

2) The Landing Zone menu has been renamed internally and any tweaks you've made either in the official place (no!) or the userdata area (yes!) will have to be reapplied.

3) In the Landing Zone Options menu there is a 'Configure Landing Zone' button which opens the Config Options for the Landing Zone. The bottom button is named 'Edit Landing Zone' - this will let you set the visibility for all of the items in the landing zone (eventually this will support renaming and moving and adding new, but for now it's just Hide/Unhide). The default landing zone for TV and Videos is setup to closely resemble the default SageTV menu options.

4) The new browsers available in this release are 1) Cover Flow 2) Banner Flow and 3) Grid (Wall) Flow. There are a couple of menu items that are HIDDEN in the landing zone that you can unhide to access these.

More or less complete change list for 310:

1) New Browser "Cover Flow"
2) New Browser "Art Flow"
3) Moved configuration of UMB, Landing Zone, EPG, and OSD into Configuration Menu.
4) Support Banners in UMB Lists (for TV Shows only) added to Single List and fixed in Double List.
5) Added a new Detailed Menu variant "Simple" which can be selected as default in UMB configuration.
6) Changed Detailed Menu Animation to make it flow better with the background fanart.
7) Added config option to use Rounded Corners. Works on Posters and Banners so far.
8) Fanart Caching implemented. There is an option in Admin Tools to pre-scale the fanart.
9) Fixed Z Order so that the header bar isn't always on top of everything.
10) EPG Enhancements - Channel Logos, Background Fanart, adjustable rows/columns.
11) Added support for automatic comskip.
12) Native Toast framework.
13) Fixed REGEX search in UMB so that it works more consistently in all of the browsers.
14) Background images added to themes, plus menu to select them
15) Edit Landing Zone menu added, allows hiding menu items in landing zone menu.

310 has been uploaded. You'll have to use the manual way to update for now.

I had to rename the SageTVPluginsDev.xml to SageTVPluginsDev.2.3.310.1.xml on the project site, since google was caching the contents. So, when you download the plugin file rename it to SageTVPluginsDev.xml and overwrite your existin SageTVPluginsDev.xml.

Brian, this might be a stupid question... but how do I enabled the different UMB views... I looked in the configurations, etc, but I don't see anything that seems to allow me to change the current UMB to Cover Flow, etc.

Look for 'Edit Landing Zone' and unhide them from there. I hid all the new browsers by default.
