SageTV Server not being discovered by clients
My SageTV Server (v7) is no longer being discovered by clients. It's running on Windows Home Server (Windows Server 2003 Small Business) and my router is an Astaro Security Gateway v8.102. The server's firewall is turned off and the clients (Windows 7 machines) have their network mode set to private with network discovery enabled. The server is a fresh install from a few days ago as I had to reinstall the OS. Before the reinstall it worked fine. Also, I installed the trial of SageTV Media Center in my Ubuntu VM in Wine and that doesn't show up in the server browser for clients either, though Wine could be causing that.

With your router being called a Astaro Security Gateway v8.102 I woulod look on there for any firewalls or other settings that could be blocking it. Did the server keep the same IP? Are they all on the same subnet? Can you ping the IP address of the server from any of the clients?

My "router" is the bring your own box version of Astaro ASG. It's actually quite nice and free for home users with less than 50 internal IPs. All devices on my network are on the same subnet and the routing settings configured on the ASG allows internal communication (and can't prevent it as they are all on the same subnet). I think this is more of a networking issue than a Sage issue. I just wanted to ask here first to see if anyone with a similar setup had similar problems before posting on astaro's forums. Also I can communicate with the server just fine from clients (would be a bit difficult to manage a headless server if I couldn't ). The server has also been having problems with DNS resolution even though the DNS servers are valid, the firewall is completely disabled, and the DNS servers respond to pings from the server.

If you had an old switch laying around you could take the router out of the picture and plug the server and a client into the switch to see if it starts discovering.
