Video Playback Error

I am getting an error when trying to record or watch tv through a happauge 2250 card that I have always used on another computer. Just switched to a new server and am getting a 4-,0800400217 error. Read about this and the suggestions included changing to windows 7 player on the video section, but still not working. Any ideas on why this is not working? Practically the same setup just a newer computer.

BTW - I was able to set up the tuner card and scan for channels, just no playback.

Can you clarify whether this is a recording error or a playback error? If you set up a scheduled recording, without trying to watch it at the same time, does it record without errors? Can you play back existing imported videos?

It might also help if you post the complete text of the error message instead of just the error number.

That would seem to indicate that either you don't have an appropriate video codec installed, or you've selected an incompatible codec in Detailed Setup > Video / Audio.

And just to be clear, there is no such thing in Sage as "playback from tuner card". The program is always recorded to disk, and playback always happens from a file on disk, even when watching "live" TV.

Actually just got it. Even though Windows 7 installs the driver for graphics, it seems like you have to install the specific one that came with the motherboard.
