Video Playback Error with v6 Not with v5

I was using SageTV v6 and over the past few days I noticed I couldn't play back anything I recorded nor could I play live TV. I would get an error (I think it was -4,0x0) whenever I tried to play anything back. I tried de-installing/re-installing with no luck. Then I de-installed, and installed STV v5. After the install, all playback worked fine so I thought...well, I'll de-install v5 and re-install v6. Again, playback errors so I've gone back to v5. Any idea why I would get a video playback error with v6 and not v5. I'm using all of the same video playback settings (codecs, etc.)
Thanks,
Greg

What tuners are you using in your system?

If they are QAM tuners, I know Sage changed the way it handles those at some point with v6. You would need to reconfigure those tuners from scratch (remove from inside Sage) and make sure that any of the tuner files inside the Sage directory were removed. Usually the tuner files have file names that include the tuner name (Like "Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner....") and are .frq and .scn file types.

The SCN files are generally created by the tuner setup application (using HDHomerun setup as an example).

FRQ Files

Looks like there are four frq file. I'll try de-installing, v5, re-installing v6 and making sure those files are gone. Basically a "from scratch" installation.

Still no go

So I desinstalled everything and physically removed the SageTV folder will all of the frq files. I re-installed v6 and after configuring the tuner and testing the playback I still get:

"There was a Playback Error in playback. Details:
sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x0): There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback."

HELP!

Make sure you don't have a Frey Technologies folder out there with SageTV in it. If you do you need to ununstall or remove the directory. Also make sure you only have one (the latest) version of java installed. If you have more than one remove all but the latest.

Can you provide more details of your setup? OS, Capture devices, decoders installed, etc.

Playbacke Error System Details

Running XP Pro, Hauppauge PVR-250 capture card.

Here is the current state of things. I am able to play say an AVI imported from my media library no problem. I just can't watch live TV or watch something recorded in SageTV. If I record a channel in SageTV I am able to watch the mpg file in Windows Media Player.

I enabled DEBUG logging and here are some interesting entries I found:

I had a similar problem using my Hauppauge PVR-150, which was easily solved by changing the settings for video playback within Sage. I don't have access to exactly what I changed from where I am right now, but the default settings gave me the same error.

Try changing them 1 at a time and see if it helps.
