Library Import Scan Taking Longer Than Usual

Recently (within the last week or so) I noticed that my Sage server seems to be constantly in library import scan mode. After finally getting the chance to take a look at the log tonight, it appears than scans are taking anywhere from 50 minutes to 1 hour or more. In the past they only seemed to last a few minutes. In my log, I notice a bunch of lines that look like this:

Quote:

What does this mean? Does this seem normal because I don't ever remember scans taking this long. Surely this isn't good for server performance. In the interim, I guess I will just dial my scan frequency back. I appreciate any help you can give.

Okay, after a little more investigation it became obvious to me that the lines I posted above have nothing to do with the library import, but rather they pertain to photos being loaded into the screen saver on my client and extender. So I determined that the lines I needed to look for have [LibraryImporter@xxxxxxx] in them. Here is what I discovered when looking at my last library scan.
  • Movies directory (~80 items) took about 6 seconds to scan
  • Music directory (10,000 + songs) took 33 minutes to scan
  • Picutres directory (8 years worth of photos and home videos) took 44 minutes
  • Recording directories took seconds to scan

So I know I have a lot of music and pictures, but I don't ever remember these taking so long to scan. Doesn't SageTV just skim the directories to see if there are new files and carry on if there aren't? I could understand it taking this long on an initial scan, but it seems excessive for an 'update' scan. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, the library scan problem seems to have fixed itself. The last 3 scans have taken 9 minutes or less. I am not sure what changed to fix the issue or what caused it in the first place, but I wanted to follow up anyway.
