Well, more is always better. You never know what the future might bring and how long you'll hold onto the hardware. You don't want to put yourself in the situation where you need more expansion and the only way to get it is to buy new hardware like the OP.

I have one of these boards I will no longer need when i build my new server. That won't be until july though. Maybe sooner. Awesome board. Has been rock solid since day one. Down side (and the reason I'm getting rid of it) is that it doesn't support the 1333fsb core 2 cpu's.

if you can live without IPMI, (aka the non -F version), its $20 cheaper...
not sure how anyone could live without IPMI though...
but then all my servers are located in the crawl space... so at least for me IPMI is a blessing...

Im sorry, Im little behind on the times, IPMI?

Yeah, 4 pci-e are fine, But it is a more is better thing as it seems Everything is going to the PCI-e spec.

as for the PCI-e expansion. I just as soon spend the $500 on a couple HDPVR's and use my unused USB slots.
