Dual HVR-2250 issues

I've been having issues with my recordings ever since I added the 2nd HVR-2250. The recording seems to change channels in the middle of a show, mostly when I manually change the channel I think, but there is no warning about losing the recording. The other problem is that I seem to get three recordings of everything, some of which are crap per the above and others are OK.

I'm not sure if this is a setup issue or if my blasters need to be shielded?

If you are using multiple IR blasters to change channels on multiple cable boxes that all use the same remote control codes, then yes you definitely need to shield your blasters.

This would make the most sense from what I'm seeing.

What's the most effective; some black tape?

Some people have posted about making "tents" out of cardboard.

For my setup, I have one USBUIRT with the 2 external emitters. I taped one emitter to the front of each cable box with black electrical tape. The tape completely covers the emitter (except for the part that is touching the box). It's important that the emitter be right over the sensor on the box if you do this or you won't get reliable channel changes.

Thanks, I discovered that mine are not staying attached very vell. So I'm going to replace them and then put a flap over them, in case I want to use the remote at some point.
