HD 300 - TV is all green until changing Video Source

When I first turn on my HD 300, my TV's screen goes from black to solid green. It does it's dance of resetting the screen a few times but the screen stays solid green. If I change the Video Source on the TV (like going from HDMI to Composite and back), everything will be fine. Also, I commonly will turn the TV off but leave the HD 300 turned on (well, that's what I used to do with the HD 200 that this replaced). However, when turning the TV back on when the HD 300 has gone to sleep, I also get the solid green screen and nothing will change that other than changing the Video Source on the TV.

I'm sure this is a TV thing because this does not happen on my newer TV. However, I was hoping this rang a bell with someone and they might know how I can avoid this issue because _I_ know it's a simple matter to resolve, change the Video Source, but communicating this to the wife... well, needless to say the WAF suffers a bit.

BTW, the TV is a Westinghouse 40" 1080p, LVM-42W2

EDIT: Meant to add that the HD 200 would commonly (though not always) come up with a green tint to the picture when first turned on but during the resolution dance, like right after "Loading Configuration...", would go to a normal picture. It never had the going to sleep issue though.
