Audio stops working when using two or more HD-300 when changing channels?
My wife and I have found a strange problem with our HD-300's that we can replicate 100% of the time. I haven't started started a ticket yet as I wanted to post here first.
Just to give a quick background. I have three HD-300's all running back to a SageTV server running the latest version of SageTV 7. I have two 2250's and one HD-PVR for a total of three tuners inside the server. The HD-PVR is capturing audio/video coming out of my Knology STB for HD viewing of cable chanels. The 2250's are hooked to the cable outlet on the wall for QAM and SD channels. The only plugins I have installed is Sage My Movies and Diamond. Everything else is a stock SageTV 7 installation.
Ok, most of my wife's shows currently come on SD and this is how we found out about the problem. She was watching something on History channel today (SD programming) in the back bedroom so I came out into the living room to watch TV by myself. I fired up my HD-300 and T.V and tuned to ESPN HD. As soon as it came on my screen, she immediately lost audio on her show in the back bedroom. Now when this happens, the only way she can get the audio to again is to simply change to another channel and then turn back to the original channel. Once she changes channel, the audio comes right back in.
I decided to do some tests to see if I could replicate it, and sure enough, if she is watching ANY SD programming on the back TV and I tune to a HD channel on the front TV, she will lose audio on the show she is watching 100% of the time. However, if I tune to a SD channel while she is watching another SD channel, nothing happens out of the ordinary. Hers and mine audio/video work fine.
After we figured out we could replicate it non-stop I wanted to see if I had the same problem with my HD-300 in the living room. So I tuned into a SD channel and had her tune to several HD channels. My audio would drop out for a few seconds, become choppy, and then re-appear. However, it won't always do it for me on the living room TV. Sometimes, I would be watching SD and she will tune HD in the back and I don't expierence any problems whatsoever...
Any ideas on what is going on? Why does this problem seem to be more confined with the bedroom HD-300?
