Help: SageTV stops changing channels on DirecTV box

I am running SageTV v6.6.2.218, with the backend running as a service on Win XP Pro. It's connected to a DirecTV D10 box via USB-to-COM for channel changing. I pretty much never watch live TV through Sage, just record shows.

I have had an increasingly frequent problem recently where SageTV will stop changing channels. Things will record fine for a while, then I will start seeing all recordings be of the same channel. When this happens, even if I try to manually change channels, nothing gets to the DTV box. The only way to fix the problem is to stop the SageTV service and restart in completely.

Anybody else seen this or have any suggestions how to deal with it?

I've noticed this in the last month too. I'm using a serial cable only. I'm assuming that D* set out an update to it.

Don't forget to power down the D-10 too when you restart the computer.

Last weekend I went to a three zone USB UIRT setup to fix this and also get use of the '-' for HD sports channels. took a while to setup but its been fine so far...

I have also had similar problem lately with usb-serial to directv d20. Wierd, but I disconnect USB-serial-USB and turn it around and reconnect and it's fixed. Any suggestions as to why this is happning, or why this fixes the problem??

If the DTV box in any way cycles the power (update, power glitch) USB channel changing will fail. I have to shut down the box, then the PC...then restart the box and then PC. I have H20-200's.
