Dave,

Because I don't have the card, it would be difficult for me to go through the process of setting up and confirming whether or not my instructions work. Here's what I can offer for guidance.

Read my post on compiling HDPVR drivers and further down.
Setup your environment for compiling
Pull drivers from this tree: http://kernellabs.com/hg/saa7164-stable/
Compile and install
Ensure you have the firmware installed for the card
Reboot
