HD300 Newbie - audio questions

Have a SageTv PVR version 7 server working well on a PC

I want to add a HD300 as a client.

If I connect the HD300 via HDMI to an HDMI 1.3 monitor with built in stereo speakers, will there be any problem with an addition analog stereo out put from the HD300 via the dongle? I am not sure if the HDMI will block any additional audio output.

What will be the wattage out put of this analog stereo into 8 ohm speakers?

Will the volume control of the HD300 control the analog stereo out put.

thanks for any help

No wattage comes out of the analog or digital output....So one needs an amp in the mix somewhere. TV's, computer speakers, some speakers(powered), receivers all have built in amps.

Because you say your monitor has 1.3 input it very well may just downrez it to 2.0 pcm and send that to your monitor speakers which are powered. No analog is required. Wattage should be on specs of your monitor...don't expect much.

Now if you want to add other speakers, then they would have to go to a receiver, amp, or be powered speakers.

I think the HD200 has both the digital and analog ports active at the same time but I don't think that is the case with the HD300 but I may be wrong there.

Yea, the analog out is line level. You wouldn't be able to power speakers off them unless the speakers have their own amp like many computer speakers.
