Struggling to set up the HD-PVR in Sage7 - Need Help!!

I could use any and all advice from those of you that have managed to get this working. I am running Sage7, have an HVR-2250 and an HD-PVR connected to a Motorola 4250HD. I've yet to get the HD-PVR working in Sage. The HVR-2250 has been working for almost 2 years. I'm running on XP Pro and all watching is done via an HD200 (and soon HD300).

I started by following these instructions which had helped so many others (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...+pvr+scheduler). I used HWClear and cleaned out all drivers for the Hauppauges. I uninstalled Sage7. Then reinstalled the Hauppauge cards, then the HD-PVR. At this point, it looks like the HD-PVR works. I can use the Hauppauge TV scheduler, it changes challenges via IR just fine, records something and I can play it back via the ArcSoft program that comes with the Hauppauge. Next step is to reinstall Sage7. I go to set up the video sources and the HVR-2250s are already set up. I go to add a new video source and choose the HD-PVR (so Sage7 sees it). A screen pops up that says wait one moment while it tunes to a channel. Within a few seconds Sage just disappears, closing by itself.

I have discovered that if I record the file as mp4, Sage7 can play it. If I record it as ts or m2ts, it cannot. In fact if I try and play the ts or m2ts files Sage disappears, similar to what happens during setup.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'll try just about anything. I really want to get this working so we can keep moving away from Tivo. Thanks!

I'm guessing it might be codec related problem. Before adding the HD-PVR as new tuner source, go into Detailed Settings > Video/Audio, for all the Decoder Filters for both video and audio, select the Arcsoft Decoder options. If you don't see the Arcsoft decoders listed, then install the Arcsoft Total Media Extreme software that came with the HD-PVR first. Once the Arcsoft decoders are set, then add the HD-PVR as tuner source and configure it.

Mayamaniac you've saved my weekend! I woke up this morning thinking it had to have something to do with the video codecs because I was able to play every video on the Sage HD200 (by browsing the local file path). But I was ready to start messing around with the server itself. I didn't think to go into Sage and change the codecs used. I've now got my HD-PVR up and running! Still working on fine tuning things (EPG, etc.) but you can bet I'll start adding a few of the favorites in.

Thanks again!
