Trying to figure something out... favorites Q...
Okay, I love watching "The Daily Show" on a nightly basis. Is there a way for Sage to only record airings from 11:00-11:30 on Comedy Central, instead of ALL recordings? As it stands, it can't find the 'first run' episodes because The Daily Show lacks a unique description so it thinks they are all repeats... and if I use the 'first runs and reruns' option, it records like 30 episodes in a week which is too much.
Any help would be appreciated here, as that time specification is very important to more shows than just The Daily Show. |

Okay, I found the 'timed recordings' feature but it's not as easy to use as I wanted... perhaps just being able to choose a favorite listed in your Favorites list, and then set options for that to record shows only between XXX time and XXX time?
Just curious if this had been considered... for the meanwhile I'm working with the timed recordings and grinning and bearing with it. Thanks! |

you can setup a manual recording for those times and what days
also you can go through the weeks guide and manually choose the recordings every two weeks I know this sucks but Tivo is no better in this issue either the setting up a manual recording is better option though |

You can also limit the favourite to record shows from a single channel (but if Comedy Central does repeats itself, that is not useful either)

The timed based recording is the best way to go for this type of show. IMO However having a preferred(user defined) timeslot, much like we have with the channel setup would be great. If the slot was available without conflicts Sage would always use it. If a conflict was detected then it could fall back to a second(again user defined) preferred timeslot. This kind of behavior would give us the best of both worlds.
I also have a TIVO and every weekend I go thru all the upcoming airings for "The Daily Show" and delete all except one airing daily. I can't understand why Comedy Central and others do this type of thing. What's even weirder is that sometimes the data for each episode of "The Daily Show" will be distinct for a few days or even a week and then suddenly they'll all have the same listing again.

Okay, so the time based recording is it... question is though, will they be changing this around at any point so we can specify the time in our favorites? It would make life a lot easier.

FYI I just released an updated STV with Time-slot favorites. I need some people to test it out so if anyone is willing....

Narflex has a great sticky in the Customization forum on that.

What's the ramifications of testing this STV?
I only have one "mission critical" system so don't want to risk loosing anything. |
