HD-PVR present, but ignored by SageTV
My HD-PVR is not recognized by SageTV. The HD-PVR can be found in Device Manager, and is recognized as loaded by the DEVCON utility.
Code:
∙USB\VID_2040&PID_4902\00A284BD : Hauppauge HD PVR Capture Device ∙1 matching device(s) found. I have cycled power on the HD-PVR, and restarted the computer, but the problem is not changed. What can I do to cause SageTV to recognize the HD-PVR again?

I disabled Service Mode, ran SageTV locally on the server computer, and the HD-PVR was recognized again.
Then I re-started Service Mode, and the HD-PVR was still recognized from the client and HD-300. So my questions are: 1) What causes this problem? 2) How can I be alerted when this happens? (I already have an hourly task that checks for the HD-PVR drivers being loaded, but they were loaded just fine in this case. It seems to be an issue internal to SageTV). 3) How can I prevent this from happening again?

This same failure has happened again.
Has anybody else seen it? Is there any way to "force" detection video capture devices when SageTV is operating in Service Mode? Disabling service mode, running SageTV from the computer, and then re-enabling service mode is inconvenient, and not very "family friendly" if I'm not around. Also, nobody likes missing shows. I've used the HD-PVR for a couple years, and have become used to the continual random failures. I have a USB detection program run from an hourly scheduled command, which triggers a power-cycling relay on the HD-PVR in case of failure . That has kept it functioning for the most part. But this is a new type of failure: the HD-PVR is still present and enumerated on USB. Only SageTV seems to think it is missing.
