Lookup Missing Metadata

Once in a while a TV show will fail to get it's metadata.... so I logon to webui and do a scan for missing metadata and this gets any missing metadata. Is there a commandline option that I can schedule periodically?

Unfortunately the commandline interface has been retired, (but it does still exist) in the plugin repository. Personally I'd use the metadata features in jrekiwi's plugin (which uses the same metadata engine at bmt, ie, Phoenix). Also, rumour has it that razrsharpe may be adding some on demand lookups to his tv explorerer plugin as well.

bonus... hadn't tried out jrekiwis implementation and it worked well for my scenario of updating season/episode numbers when the lookup fails ... so maybe i wont be adding metadata lookup to tve... yet.... at least until i stop linking to sage's option menus (and i cant easily link to jrekiwi's plugin) like i do know...

The only thing it doesn't do is update empty descriptions... so maybe I'll work on that unless you want to tackle that feature request from the other thread

It updates empty descriptions for me. Are they imported videos or recordings?

ya these are recordings... and i have the preserve original metadata flag set in bmt... so the descriptions should not be updated per here when doing a lookup from the stv when that flag is set
