Another multi disc question... And one other thing.
I have searched through the forum but I am still at a loss on how to get multi disc's to work properly.
Currently I have Spartacus Season 1 DVD's. I ripped them all and they all ripped to individual disc folders. How do I tell MM that it is a muli disc set so that when I am browsing in SMM, I don't have all the DVD's showing up? I want to be able to just click on one of the Spartacus pictures and have it drill down to the actually 5 discs that I have. I clicked on one of the Spartacus discs in MM and then I clicked on the boxed set icon on the right and it asked me to select which child disc belong to this series. That almost seemed to do what I want. However, I could never play one of the DVD's. Only 4 out of the 5 would play. My second question is that fan art doesn't seem to be downloading any longer. I don't use BMT for it. I just use MM and I have the proper amount of points to download the 720p fan art. Any idea on what it stopped or how to actually get it to download again? I checked my pont balance in MM and it still shows I have the points available... ![]() |

Do you have the title added to your MM collection?
Once you do click on the "Discs" button. This will open a window showing all the discs associated with a particular title. For each disc choose the online folder option and pick the disc folder pertaining to that disc. Exit the disc window and click the save title button on the bottom. Now refresh your imported media and there should be one option for the title. Then when you select the disc a window will show up asking you to choose a disc.

There are two ways... one is using multi discs and the other is using boxed sets. While the end result of watching your movie is the same, they are really two totally different things. I don't think there is a right or wrong way to do this and it is mostly a preference thing. Here is how I look at it though... if you have a DVD where there are several discs in the main case and you have only one case then I use multi discs. If you have a DVD where the individual DVDs have different "covers" or artwork for each DVD then I use boxed sets.
With boxed sets, in Sage My Movies, selecting the boxed set will open a different window showing each of the DVD covers (and individual backgrounds) in your boxed set. With multi discs, selecting the DVD cover in Sage My Movies will bring up a simple pop up box asking you to select the disc you'd like to play (via a text list). The text that comes up is what you have listed in Collection Manager after clicking the disc(s) icon. As an example, I use multi discs for some TV series that I have individual episodes for. For example, Dexter Season 1. I put each episode in its own folder and named each folder as an episode (like it is a stand alone DVD)... like "Dexter S01E01". I then have what Collection Manager views as maybe 12 different DVDs. But, if you go into the first one, you can then "modify" what Collection Manager has there as it thinks I have the DVD set. I just changed the disc1 title to Episode1 for example and then added additional "discs" for each episode and pointed them to the correct online location. Note: Do NOT upload this data to the web service ![]() The above works good for me as a multi disc because I don't have different covers and info about each individual episode. If I had different art work and individual episode descriptions, then I may set this up as a boxed set instead. The Bourne Trilogy is a good example of a boxed set. It has three different movies in it all with their own DVD covers, backgrounds, descriptions, etc. So, for this case, I want to see all that so I make it a boxed set and when clicking on The Bourne Trilogy in Sage My Movies, a window opens showing me the individual DVD covers. Then, there are some that are a combination of both! haha Like, for example, I have several Ghost Whisperer seasons. Each season I view as a boxed set and multi disc combo in that (if I remember correctly) there are 3 cases for a season and each case has in it two discs. The three cases have their own artwork. So, if I wanted to see this artwork, I could set this up as a boxed set that when clicked on you'd see three DVD covers come up. Then, clicking on a DVD cover would bring up the option to play disc1 or disc2. I'm a Sage My Movies guy who is using Colleciton Management in order to use Sage My Movies (not vice versa) so I struggled a bit myself with the whole boxed set vs multi disc thing when I first started too ![]() |
