WHS Sage 7 Upgrade License Purchase Question & placeshifter
First off, I understand that this SageTV Media Center V7 for Windows Upgrade is what I need to purchase because I currently have version 6.6 on my WHS server.
My questions are these: 1> I currently connect to Sage 6.6 under WHS using placeshifter running from a single XP machine in my house. Will this upgrade include a placeshifter license or is that a separate purchase (thinking it is included cuz how else can I watch from WHS but want to confirm). 2> As I'm watching Placeshifter on my internal network on this single machine on my internal network, is there a way to easily have it hook to the one WHS server in house to save the "pick the server to connect to" click? And Placeshifter is "already included in the price" best way to connect, right? 3> Placeshifter has the new interface correct? Because that is the only reason I'm upgrading is for the new interface. 4> Maybe I'm not looking in the right forums, but has there been much discussion as to "like it"/"hate it" for the new interface? If there is a discussion topic on this already can you point me over there?

1) If you upgrade and install it as a WHS add-on the single placeshifter license is included.
2) Look in the Detailed Setup-General-Automatically connect to the Sage server option. 3) Yes-New interface. 4) Use search. Much discussion. And just like any other interface. Most love it-some hate it. Gerry

There might be a command line option that will auto-connect to the specified server, but I didn't see it in the Placeshifter section of the user manual. If nobody else chimes in on how to do it, I would submit a support request to SageTV to see if it's possible to auto-connect with Placeshifter.

For the auto-connect, I found a thread that might help: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...8&postcount=13 Starting at message 13 (the above link will start you at message 13) of that message thread, you'll find a couple of methods to auto-connect.

Note that you will probably need to manually select the new V7 UI (SageTV7.xml) under Detailed Setup > Advanced. Otherwise Placeshifter will continue to load the same UI file (SageTV3.xml) that it's using now.

Placeshifter License - This Concerns Me
I currently use 6.6x on Win7 (64) with 4 placeshifter or extender licenses registered.
If I upgrade to V7 am I going to have to rebuy 4 more licenses? |

No, only the server requires an upgrade license.
