Missing QAM channels

I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600 and FIOS TV all hooked up to a Sony 37EX500. The Sony can view 23 valid clear QAM channels. Allowing he SageTV system to do a scan with the source set to "cable" gets it to find 14 channels of which 4 are valid and 10 have no valid signal (they are all of the form channel 3.x, there is no local QAM channel 3).
The valid channels have physical channels of the form 69-27-1 for channel 27-1 for example. If I was to manually add the physical channels would they work? If so is there a way to find the physical channel numbers for the others? Otherwise, how can I get the HVR-1600 to see the other 21 channels?

The HVR1600 is funny that way and not quite as sensitive as the QAM tuners found in most tv's.

If you search around the forum you will find in length discussions about th eHVR1600 and possibly some tips/tricks to try and get more channels.

solution

I believe I may have the problem fixed. I found that Hauppauge had posted a newer set of drivers very recently. By loading these and starting all over I was able to get all but one of the QAM channels. Still this only worked if I told the system it was using the Verizon Digital system, if I let it do a scan without any guidance, it found nothing. The TV however, found all the channels without being told anything. Clearly the scanning process is still not as good as the one included in the Sony TV.
