Problem with component after HD200 firmware update
I just updated my Server and client to the latest version (7.0.23) and my two HD200s to the latest firmware (20100909 0). One of the HD200s is working fine with its HDMI connection but the other which uses component stopped working after the update.
I tested the latter with HDMI and it was fine and I noticed that the video setting had been changed to HDMI. I changed it back to component but this didn’t solve anything. The HDMI still worked and the component didn’t (even when I removed the HDMI cable). The box does not even turn off using the remote when component cables are in so something seems to be hanging. When I turn on the box the SageTV server connecting screen comes on rather than the HD Media Player loading configuration screen. After the server connecting screen the picture goes blank. I tested both boxes and they both have the same behavior. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve this. |

Did you try hitting the "video out" button?

Thanks for the suggestion. Clicking the video out button on the remote does not fix this.
With the component cables in the screen shows the SageTV HD Theater is starting screen at first then the screen blanks and the box is unresponsive to the remote so I have to pull out the power cable (even HDMI out does not work at that point whether I have both sets of cables in or if I pull out component and put in HDMI). - Ian |

Two options:
1. Since you are trying to use this in extender mode: Shut down Sage, go to the SageTV directory and find the Client directory. Delete the client properties file that is associated with your HD200 (it uses the devices MAC address found underneath the unit). Then try setting up your HD200 all over again. 2. If #1 does nothing, try reloading the firmware (may have to use the firmware recovery process mentioned in the FAQ).

Thanks Paul for your helpful responses. They resolved the issue. Thanks also for your patience with a newbie. I realize now that I should have posted in the extender forum.
