No release notes were posted on Hauppauge's website. Any idea what was fixed in the latest drivers?

I was looking for the release notes too but no luck.

I have been noticing very slow recording transitions at time slot changes and an increase in recording halt warnings lately. Hoping this and updating java fixes the problem.

I reboot about once a week, but I have noticed the same thing. I had updated the colossus drivers and it completely destroyed it. Recordings were glitchy and audio lagged by minutes .

I rolled back to the 30079 drivers and all is perfect.

Just curious ...

Are you still doing daily reboots?

question

I am thinking of moving to dish or DirecTV and using the colossus. What is the best setup and provider to use? Any guides to follow ... using the newest sage on windows xp sp2 ... several extenders ... the system is stable now and want to add in more channels then the free ones...

Today I move my server rack to another room in basement.

I thought I would give HDMI a try again and unhooked the component cable and hooked HDMI back up.

I do nightly reboots so that normal for me however with component when I am changing channels it take about 20-30 channel changing before the recording start to record shuddering videos forcing a reboot to remove the shuddering.

But every time I tried HDMI, I get the shuddering issue within 3-4 channel changes forcing me to reboot the server.

I notice many of you are using HDMI with nightly reboot, is there a trick to get it working with HDMI but not run into shuddering video problem too soon??

Thank you

Bill

i do nightly reboots with the driver version 29192 component/SPDIF audio without any issues. what i recall from way back when, HDMI wouldnt last the entire day for me. it would crash the machine and reboot.

There's been a ton of updated driver versions since 29192 but i dont need HDMI that bad... maybe one day if i'm feeling adventurous

I used to do nightly reboots, but since I moved to Server 2012 I haven't had to. No more bad recordings.

I still want to try HDMI again but those who got it working with HDMI without shuttering video and audio ... how do you all do it?

Right now I been using component but problem is that DirectTV HD STB won't let me choose 1080p unless i plug in HDMI.

I borrowed an older DirectTV HD STB from my parents and HDMI play nicely on it. It just won't play nice with my DirectTV HD STB

Can anyone help me out here?

Thank you

Bill

I had to get a HDMI splitter of ebay when my original DirecTV H20 receiver went bad. The new DirecTV reciever did not have optical out for Audio. The splitter allowed me to record with the HDMI in.

Got it off ebay. Not sure if the current generation works as well as the ones offered last year but here is the link to the one I purchased.

Yes I have that splitter but the video/audio still shutters with the splitters.

My issue is trying to stop the shutterings when it recording.

I have not had any problems recording with HDMI.
Are you 100% sure the issue is with the recording and not playback?
Have you played the file back with something like VLC?

Have you attempted to record with the software that came with the card?
