Hauppauge PVR-250 w/ PVR-500MCE
Greetings,
I currently have a two tuner system that works quite well with two PVR-250s in it, I would like to upgrade it to work with 1 PVR-250 and 1 PVR-500MCE however when I installed the new PVR-500MCE, Removed the drivers, reinstalled the driver for the PVR-250 and installed the driver for the PVR-500MCE SageTV only recognizes the PVR-500MCE and not the PVR-250, also the remote no longer works (One assumes this is because the PVR-250 is not recognized). I checked the device manager and noted that one of the tuners on the PVR-500MCE and the PVR-250 both use IRQ 16, so I am wondering if this is the problem and if someone knows how to change the IRQ settings for the tuners. Otherwise, can someone suggest how I can go about getting these to cooperate? Thanks! Tom |

Is the 250 listed in the properties file at mmc/ignore_encoders= ? If so, try removing it (Shut down Sage first, delete the entry, save file).

No, it is not listed in the ignore properties.

Got it to work
Well, I finally got the PVR-500MCE to work with the PVR-250, It does appear that I was right about the IRQs, but I had to get them to change in a convoluted fashion since I couldn't change them in the Device Manager.
I installed the PVR-250 & PVR-500MCE into a new system and when they set themselves up they were still sharing one IRQ, I then installed my other PVR-250 into the system and when it was detected and installed it came up with a different IRQ. I then removed the PVR-250 with the conflicting IRQ and all three worked. Go figure, I just wish I could have changed it using a program rather then playing, swap the board. |
