So out of curiosity what problems are there with the 3 newer drivers listed on SHS's site?

Need to say filing a new bug report with Sage will do us no good after all SageTV is no more how ever we can only hope that Google has something plan in works if not well there nothing that can be done.

Well, the version I'm using has worked perfectly for the past 2 months with no bad recordings. I just updated the hardware in my server and went ahead and updated to windows 7 as well. Installed the same colossus driver and didn't mess with the delay to record setting (was using 12 sec, now using 4) and there are no issues.

I really think that the colossus's ability to record perfectly has more to do with the output signal the stb is feeding it. It makes no sense that it works so well for me and so poorly for others.

I have the audio sync problem consistently. I did however capture a movie via PPV and did not experience the audio sync issue. Due to lack of commercials????

I will also say, I have the audio sync problem in both Showbiz and SageTV.

I honestly think the STB is to blame. It seems to be the only variable in the colossus equation. Maybe there was no issue because it was a constant audio stream? I'd test a blu-ray player locked at 720p with the same audio config as your stb and see if it happens. I bet it doesn't.

you are correct, it does not happen with blu ray or dvd, anything with constant stream.

Yeah I am disappointment to see that you managed to determine it was SageTV side afterall.

I been sending them logs after logs and sent them anything they wanted from me and did all the steps they asked me to do trying to resolve this CPU drainage issue with colossus then one day *bang* SageTV is no more ...

I was crushed, I didn't mind if they sold off to Google or if SageTV was no more but I only wished they had fixed this one last issue before selling off.

Hopefully this sell out turn out to be a good thing and there will be a SageTV version on next GoogleTV but only thing that worries me is that it gonna be plastered with ads and they will put some type of anti-commerial skip code in it too.

You should be good. I had an issue with a recording yesterday when testing I've upped it to 8 seconds and it works perfectly.

changed the delay to 8000 as you suggested and so far so good. I also removed the 480i and 480p options from directv to eliminate the need for 2 different encoders. now it will choose between 720p and 1080i only.

Thanks for your help

No problem. I don't use the colossus for SD material. It REALLY doesn't like sd.

That's not a Colossus problem, it's just Sage. You can playback/record SD Colossus recordings outside of Sage just fine.

Good to know. So far so good with using just 720p, 1080i though so if that's what it takes along with nightly service restarts then that's not so bad.
