Just throwing out an idea here, since I don't have my Colossus installed yet. Have you tried padding the beginning of recordings by a few minutes, so that there's plenty of time to get the channel tuned via the end of the previous show on that channel? I'd be tempted to try up to 10 minutes of padding, so that the previews/commercials (which may be in stereo) don't come into play.

I always have 2 minutes before and 3 minutes after. Get my problem recordings on a premium channel Showtime most recently.

The padding isn't the issue. It is that the colossus is getting a pcm (which it encodes to AAC) when it first tunes the channel and it thinks that the whole recording is pcm when it isn't. When I open up the recordings in tsmuxer they all have just an avc track and a dolby digital track. The audio is way behind the video though, and without remuxing it won't play in sage. I'm not sure if it is a sagetv issue or a hauppauge issue. It doesn't happen very often so it isn't that big of a problem, but last weekend it happened on every recording for two days. After restarting the server it stopped and hasn't happened since. Very strange.

So out of curiosity, if you use the HDMI video with RCA audio cables do you get perfect recordings with no sync issues?

I didn't think there was a HDMI+Analog option.

Nope, just HDMI with dolby digital and native resolution on.

I'm trying to figure out if there are any similarities with everyone's configuration and the issues people have. I started a poll in this section asking what OS everyone is using as well as the driver version associated with it. Thanks.

Well I started experiencing choppy, stuttering recordings againe only diff now is it gose 5 hours instead of 4 hours how odd.
I also saw on the server was eat cpu usage show about 30% but with sagetv.exe was only showing 10% in task manager but min I killed Sagetv the usage drop back down 0/1% like should be so something going on I just can't pin point what going on .

I skip the 29259 driver being I couldn't get them shecd off time of no recording and moved on to 29263 like today with no record so I can just record what for test and reviewing.
I have no idea if there any good more likey there no good being it only few days apart from 29263 drivers.

Use Process Explorer to see what is using the CPU. Driver level processes don't show their CPU usage in Task Manager.
