I did not notice any picture quality differences... Audio sync continues with me as well. What is your STB?

I'm running a Motorola DCH3200 on Comcast.

There is an earlier post in this thread about a working system (no sync issues) using the Cisco RNG-150. I was going to try to swap out my STB w/ Comcast to try that one, but I haven't had the time.

My worst sync issues seem to show up on HistoryHD (Pawn Stars/American Pickers). If I record back to back to back episodes, by the last episode in the sequence the sync is almost a full second off.

For me (U-Verse) I dont' think the channel matters too much. Commercials seems to be the most common trigger. ESPN seems to be a good channel for getting out of sync quick.

I installed these this weekend and have had the server, not the service, every 24 hours ever since. Since it sounds like I'm the only one with this problem I'll just work this with Hauppauge Friday.

Installed this morning seems to be working for now. I will report back on how it does.
DirercTV H20 over HDMI on Windows7-64

I just want to note to you guys that for the second time the driver install program did not update the capture part of the driver. I had to do that manually. If you are using the install program you should look at both drivers and make sure they are running the same version. I would expect a mismatch would cause issues.

hmm - same here. the capture part on both cards failed to update. Manual updating fixed it. thx for the tip!

To add another question, when would you not want it? Seems like you would always want the audio in sync with the video, but I guess that's just me...

Okay.

Now I know what TBC is.

Are you suggesting that this will fix the audio sync issues?

Is this something new for this driver release for the Colossus? Where did this come from? I don't see any mention of it on the Colossus "support" page.

Like some of the others, I followed the official "instructions" for driver update and had the same driver update issue. I ended up running HCWCLEAR and started from scratch. Fresh install gave me the correct driver for both encoder and capture.

I'm still noticing my video captured from the Colossus is now very bright. It makes most programming unwatchable. Unless there is some way to adjust it, I'm going to have to revert to the older drivers.

I don't know if you've been asked, but are you connected to the colossus via component or hdmi? Either way have you changed cables? Have you connected the box to the tv to see if it has the same problem? Have you connected an alternate device with component or hdmi output to the colossus to see if it has the same problem?

I have said it 100 time before DON'T followed the official "instructions" used the ones I posted here.

Windows 7
The best to do it is manually uninstall from device manager by installing Hauppauge Colossus Capture frist then the Hauppauge Colossus Encoder and besure tell Windows 7 to del the files then reboot and reinstall.

Windows XP/Vista
The best to do it is manually uninstall from device manager by installing Hauppauge Colossus Capture frist then the Hauppauge Colossus Encoder
This is must user run hcwclear after doing the above way and yes it will remove any other hauppauge card still install in device manger so you have
reinstall them to.

Windows XP/Vista/7
If you need down grade back to older drivers you have to Power Down don't do a restart wait a min then fire it back up that way it clear Colossus memory.

No I'm not suggesting that this will fix the audio sync issues.
But you never know but that not what TBC is for it on Video side of things if recall rigth.

I'm getting my colossus today. I have a 2250 installed. What is the best way to install the colossus in my XP server?

SHS - can you post a link to your instructions? they are getting buried inthe thread.

Anyone else having an issue with brightness /whites washed out on the newer drivers? the last two sets for me have been so bright i had to roll back, i couldnt see yellow on white at all. Like someone had turned contrast and brightness all the way up.

I've always installed my HVR-2250 drivers first then the Colossus. But I've got problems recording too. HDMI from DirectTV locked at 1080i.

Just point Hardware Wizard the drivers that you dowload or off CD.
