Lightbulb Welcome to the SageTV Customizations Forum!

Welcome!

This forum is for sharing and discussing customizations made to the SageTV application. The main focus of this will be customizations created by using the SageTV Studio.

SageTV Version 2 uses .STV files to define its entire user interface, functionality, and all other user interactions. The release version of SageTV2 comes with a file Frey Technologies\SageTV\STVs\OriginalV2\OriginalV2.stv file which contains this information. STV files are created & modified using the SageTV Studio application.

Currently the SageTV Studio is only available to those in the the private beta testing group for SageTV. However, we have now authorized these private beta testers to share the STVs they have created with the public.

There'll be a new post shortly with the first available modification. Enjoy!

How soon will Studio be available to the general populace? I did do a search on STUDIO but couldn't find the reference.

Is it possible that these STV files will affect the core functions of the SageTV UI?

The reason I'm asking is because as of release 2.0 RC3 I thought I was rid of the problem where on my 350 card the UI would just dissapear during playback or at the end of recording playback (if I FFWD to the end). Recording playback would continue, but the ui on the TV (not the computer monitory) would dissappear. It can be reenabled by going through setup, eventhough setup says it is still enabled.

I just downloaded and installed mlbdude's beta 1.3 STV and this issue has just resurfaced immediately after. I didn't hot swap, I copied it over and rebooted my computer. I was wondering how much control does Studio give you and if maybe this was just coincidence? I haven't done enough testing to make totally sure....but it was an immediate observation after weeks of not seeing it.

Update
This is not a flame or a rant, just a question. I totally love sage, wouldn't trade it for anything. Most of us, don't know exactly what Studio will give us. I was just curious if this side effect was a possibility and if we should be careful with Studio. : )

Thanks....

I have heard from other people that my OSD has caused lockups for them on the 350. However, this is not something I can control and is something that would need to be fixed in the core of Sage.

You can alwasy enable the default Frey OSD in my STV and still use the rest of it.
