Handbrake settings for OTA ATSC?
I posted this in another forum and got nothing, so I'll try here:
I've searched for a few weeks now and am unable to find anything definitive in my quest. I'm trying to find Handbrake settings to re-encode OTA HDTV captures to a Handbrake-supported compression standard. I've tried a bunch of "HDTV" settings, but they all look pretty bad. Problem is, all of the guides I've found (after sifting through the endless ads for "alternative" rippers and converters) are aimed at re-encoding DVD and Blu-Ray sources. My OTA HDTV stuff is all video-based stuff: live sports and musical performances. I'd like to produce 720p output, be it from 720p or 1080i source material. Anyone know of a site that's focused on, or have any Handbrake settings for accomplishing such? |

If you haven't already I would give EP's MediaShrink a go:
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...05&postcount=1 Amazing tool easy to use and if you can't live with the defaults you can create your own. The defaults are very nice though. It uses handbrake btw. |

Well, that did not work. Resultant video is horrible. I used a 1080i video source.
