Version 7 upgrade key problem

My WHS crashed with version 7 installed. I purchased an upgrade key in June and it worked fine till the server big crash. I decided to set up a stand alone Sage server . Installed Sage v7 Media center version and it worked fine on the new computer. Now the strange part.

It asked for my key, It would not accept my v7 key I used the Ver, 6 key and it said it accepted and stored the ver 6 key. It never asked for my ver 7 upgrade key.

Now when I start sage it want the new ver 7 key but no place to install it.??
I have 3 days left on my trial ver 7
My though was that I should have installed VER 6 again then installed VER 7 over Ver 6

If this is correct then I need to find VER 6 first.

Where do I download version 6 from.

And does my thinking sound right.

I am using a win 7 os

Thanks

Ed

What SHOULD happen, is you install whatever version you want (7). On first run, it will ask you for your purchase key (this would be your full purchase key, whatever version that was - for you, it sounds like your v6 key). It will give you a message saying that that key is valid, but that you will have to enter your v7 key... it doens't ask for that now though - it continues to load up in trial mode. Quit the program, and run it again. this time, it will ask for your v7 upgrade key... enter it then, and everything will be fine.

The problem is it comes back and ask me for my v6 key again and never does it ask for v7. It does show me the message that v7 will expire in 2 days. I get the same message even after a complete reboot.

Thanks

did you shut down the Sage service before you entered the key?

Fuzzy

I have followed your instructions 3 times now and after the initial set up with v7 I install my full v6 key I set up the full program and it works fine. I shut down the program and restart it and it asks me for v6 key again. I have done this several times with the same results.

I did this with a new clean hd with win 7 to make sure.

Again, are you sure you are shutting down all sage services before you enter your keys? It sounds like the Sage Service is still running which is why Sage is not permanently storing your keys....

Yes Sage is completely shut down
I tried this again on both computers with Sage installed. Neither will accept or store the v6 key. Everytime I start Sage it askes me for the v6 full key
